What we learned from the Nuclear Plant Accident and the Roles of Science Academies in the World on Occasions of Severe Accidents     》日本語

■Conference Out line:
 With this IAC/SCJ International Conference, presidents, executives and prominent experts of key academic organizations domestic and overseas will get together to discuss about the topics as follows:
  ・What impacts have been brought by the nuclear plant accidents
  ・What we can learn from severe accidents of nuclear power plants
  ・What measures shall be taken on occasions of severe accidents

 For the early half of the programme, Speech Session is scheduled, where relevant scientists will provide speeches regarding the subjects including:
  ・Overview and summary report to be made by the chairperson of the National Diet of Japan Fukushima Nuclear Accident Independent Investigation Commission
   (NAIIC)
  ・Germany’s Energy Transition - A Real Challenge
  ・Evaluation and other aspects of the nuclear plant accident by France
   (Note: Please kindly be advised that the contents might be changed and there are some representatives and experts still under confirmation to join this session as
   speakers.)

 The latter half of this programme is for Panel Discussion, where lively discussions are expected among presidents, executives and prominent experts of key academic organizations overseas, as well as relevant members and experts of Science Council of Japan (SCJ). At the beginning, representative from overseas countries will briefly introduce the nuclear policies of their own countries and then, followed by discussions about the following aspects:
  ・What we can learn from severe accidents of nuclear power plants
  ・Evaluation of impacts brought by radiation
  ・Energy Policies in the world

 [Note 1] InterAcademy Council (IAC):
  An interdisciplinary academic body consists of 15 board members elected from its parent organization (IAP), an international academic body with its membership of 105 science academies worldwide. Its purposes are to prepare reports about critical global issues and deliver policy advises recommendations and others from scientific viewpoints toward the United Nations and others

 [Note 3] The contents of the programme including the speakers will be updated in due course after arrangements are set and confirmations are received
