Courtesy Visit by Delegation of Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

On December 16th, 2013, two groups of 15 people in total from MOST, Vietnam headed respectively by Mr. Hoang Xuan Long, Deputy Director General, National Institute for Science Technology Policy and Strategy Studies, and Mr. Do Hoai Nam, Director General, Department of Technology Appraisal, Examination and Assessment paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Fumiko Kasuga, Vice President of Science Council of Japan (SCJ).

MOST introduced the visiting two groups and Dr. Kasuga appreciated the support from Vietnam for the Great East Japan Earthquake happened in 2011. She also introduced the organization and activities of SCJ.
MOST was particularly interested in Japanese Master Plan of Large Research Projects . They raised questions regarding technology transfer in the Plan and who the beneficiary is. SCJ explained the function of Council of Science and Technology Policy and the relation with SCJ. The topic of discussion further covered the definitions of excellent and young researchers and ownership of intellectual properties in Japan.

Meeting was held about 80minutes in friendly atmosphere.
